Residential Cookery Courses in North Yorkshire

Georgina Anderson

G's(as she is known) passion for food started many years ago when she went to Winkfield, a Cordon Bleu Cookery School.   Since then her cooking experiences have ranged from Location Catering, running her own Catering Company which specialised in Weddings, Canape parties, shoot lunches and corporate functions.

With her enthusiastic approach to cooking she is able to inspire and educate her students while giving them the confidence they need to cook for themselves and others.

G recently completed a course in psychotherapy and her ability to inspire people in all aspects of their life is heart warming.  She uses her newfound skills to motivate her students to be confident and not fearful of cooking, "feeding people can give you the most unbelievable buzz and when people show their appreciation for your food it inspires you to cook more"

Caroline Whalley

Caroline began her cooking career in her and her husbands Wine Bar & Restaurant over 15 years ago.   When Caroline first stepped into a professional kitchen it was to fill in for a chef who fell ill, "that time was such a steep learning curve, I had to be calm and confident to produce restaurant quality food, once I got into my stride I loved it and was bowled over by the huge high you get from cooking for people".

She has since worked in many different aspects of professional catering, this has included Head Chef in their 2nd restaurant, working as freelance Chef for the renowned Admirable Crichton which included many events cooking for high profile clients.

Her knowledge and experience of food combined with her professional catering has inspired her to want to pass this on to people who feel less confident in the kitchen, she has a passion for using local produce and creating simple and wonderful dishes for all to enjoy.

How Lady G's met Middleton Lodge

When G and Caroline met James Allison of Middleton Lodge they put their heads together and came up with the idea for a new cookery school in the north east, a place where people can come and find a new passion for cooking in the most stunning country house. The doors of Middleton are not normally open to the general public but only for private bookings so it is an added bonus to learning how to cook fabulous food.

This October sees the press launch of the School and in November we are running three exclusive one day/night courses. Next year we are offering 4 day residential courses, 2 day residential courses and corporate team building courses.
